(in french)Synchrotron Radiation Computed Tomography (SRCT) allows direct quantification of inhaled stable Xe gas used as a tracer, by K-edge substraction (KES) imaging. We have recently developed a spiral SRCT technique, which offers the possibility to acquire lung volumetric data in-vivo. In pathologies, such as asthma and emphysema, regional alterations in lung mechanics occur, which are difficult to assess using overall measurements of lung mechanics parameters by spyrometru. In the present study, we assessed the feasibility of using We-enhanced spiral SRCT for 3D assessment of regional lung elastic properties, in an experimental model in rabbit.
