How to submit a phantom to the
cone-beam phantom data base:
This document describes how to provide
a description and a definition of the phantom which you find useful and
which you would like to become available for everyone via the internet.
The HowTo is divided into two parts. Part 1 describes how
to submit your phantom description and definition to the phantom page
PhantomPage. The second Part describes what the contents
of your phantom file(s) should be. You can regard this as a rough outline
of the structure of your file. If you find it necessary, you may deviate
from that structure.
Title:
The file should have a title
Address:
Following the title comes the author's
name and his corresponding address. You may place here a mailto link and
a link to your institution.
Aims:
Then you should provide an abstract
explaining why this phantom was designed and what it was made for and what
else it could be used for.
Primitives/Syntax:
A description of what geometrical
primitives are needed and what interactions between them are necessary
(intersection, addition etc.) to create the phantom must be given. If the
syntax of the definition file is not self explaining, a corresponding section
that explains the syntax must be found somewhere.
Description/Definition:
Describe the phantom going at least
as far into detail as it is necessary to understand the attached description
file. For example if your phantom consists of several hundred objects it
is clear that no user is willing to go through each of the objects in the
syntax file. Therefore, a detailed description that explains the location
and size of these objects is necessary.
Materials/Densities:
Do not forget to specify the materials
and densities used.
Figures:
As many figures as necessary to
understand the phantom, should be placed in the document.
References:
If necessary for the understanding
of the underlying mathematics (or whatever) please give references.
