Smart Phone for HCI in computer-aided medical interventions

In the context of man-machine interactions and following previous work concerning mini-screens for HCI, we have developed a Graphical User Interface on smart phone for assisted punctures. The smart phone was intended to provide and access to patient data and interaction with these data. When the project started only the iPhone was able to provide the suitable software and hardware environment, this is why the development was made on this technology. The application was for one interventional radiology application: CT guided punctures. We experienced several interaction modes with several way of distributing information on a classical screen and the smart phone. This was evaluated on a population of users (clinicians and non clinicians).
